School Counseling Vision Statement

Every student at Aviara Oaks Middle School will graduate ready to be successful in college and/or career. They will be prepared to accept challenges and meet high expectations of the 21st century becoming positive leaders in the community through collaboration with school, family, and community resources. Our students will demonstrate their fullest potential in academic achievement, social/emotional growth, college and/or career readiness, solving problems independently, and showing empathy towards others in their communities.

School Counseling Department Believes:

  • Every student is valued and has the right to feel safe at school.

  • Every student has the right to learn. School counselors collaborate with administration to analyze student behavior, attendance, and achievement data to drive school counseling program decisions.

  • Every student can create and achieve high standards that result in college and/or career readiness.

  • Every student has access to school counselors who are leaders, collaborators, and advocators. School counselors preventatively deliver and evaluate results-based curriculum and activities directed towards positive work habits, study skills, and relationships between others to improve overall academic success.

  • Every student will participate in a preventative developmentally appropriate data driven comprehensive school counseling program.

  • Every student will benefit from a school counselor who participates in timely and relevant professional development opportunities.
