Mrs. Beth Riis
Welcome to sixth grade! I look forward to an exciting new year of math and science. This will be my 35th year of teaching. I have taught 4th - 8th grade, and I have spent the last 22 years teaching 6th grade here at Aviara Oaks Middle School. I graduated from San Diego State University with a multiple subjects credential and a supplementary credential in mathematics. I also hold a masters in special education and am GATE certified.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with family.

Suggested Materials That You Should Have With You In Class Everyday
- 1 inch 3-ring binder with three plastic pocket dividers and college ruled notebook paper for math
- 1/2 inch binder, or Pocket and Prong Folder for science
- 2-3 pencils with handheld pencil sharpener or lead
- Pens (red or green for correcting)
- Colored pencils
- Highlighter
- Scotch tape
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Earbuds or headphones
- Planner
- Fully charged Chromebook
- Library book for silently read
