DEAR PARENTS

YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO START 7TH GRADE WITHOUT PROOF OF THE TDAP IMMUNIZATION.

In accordance with state law EVERY student entering 7th grade must provide proof of a Tdap immunization.  Verification of this required immunization must be received prior to your student registering for 7th grade in late August.  You may submit this verification at anytime prior to registration.  If your child has already received the immunization, please provide proof to the health office or you may attach a copy to the course selection paperwork.  Please call the Health office at 760-331-6190 if you have questions or need to confirm if you previously submitted proof of the immunization. If your child is missing additional required  immunizations you will be contacted individually.

Return of Library Books, Textbooks, Chromebooks and Chargers with End of the Year Policies and Dates

With the end of the school year approaching, here is some important information, if you wish to join in the fun of the end-of-the-year activities (especially 8th Grade Dance, Talent Show Assembly, Falcon Fiesta/Yearbook Signing, Promotion, etc.)  Per district policy, students are held accountable for all materials checked out from the library.  Students are not permitted to participate in end-of-year activities or receive yearbooks (even if prepaid) or memory DVDs until all materials are returned or paid for if lost.  Report cards are also withheld until all materials are accounted for.

All Library books checked out by students are due by Tuesday, May 30.  This ceiling due date is necessary to generate the overdue notices and have books returned by students before school ends.  After that date, students will need to bring books from home or use classroom library books for SSR during Advisory periods.

Textbook Return Schedule:

Students are to bring from home all textbooks (including class novels) for all subjects on their assigned return day as follows:

  • Tuesday, June 6 for 6th Graders
  • Wednesday, June 7 for 7th Graders
  • Thursday, June 8 for 8th Graders
  • Monday, June 12 for 6th Grade Chromebooks and Chargers

Students will return all their books during their English class period with their English teacher on their assigned day to the Library per the class return schedule.  Students will still have access to classroom sets of textbooks to complete remaining assignments for the last week of school.  Your cooperation with the above schedule is greatly appreciated.  Please see the attachment for the detailed return schedule by Class.

Students with Chromebooks and Chargers:

  • Students must log in to their own Destiny account and check their "My Info" tab to verify the barcode of their Chromebook and Charger  (especially the Charger).  Some chargers may have gotten mixed up with their classmates' ones!!
  • Access Follett Destiny via Clever.  Both the username and the password for Destiny login is the permanent student ID number (5 digits).
  • Clean outside cover of Chromebook with a soft clean cloth and cleaning solution, e.g., Windex.  Do not spray cleaning liquid directly onto the device.
  • Rewind the two charger cables neatly and then loop them together with the attached cable strap.  Loop cables tightly with the velcro closure strap, while not obscuring the library barcode for ease of check-in.
  • Chromebooks will be inspected upon return. Students/parents may be charged damage fines for any missing or broken keys, parts, or components.

If students want to verify which books they need to return, they can check their district library account by logging in to Destiny via the Clever portal.  Instructions are also in School Loop, Library page.

Thank you, all, in advance for your assistance in encouraging students to return all materials in a timely manner.
