What is "a-g"?

These are requirements from the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems that all incoming freshmen must complete in their high school.


"a" - History/Social Science (2 years)

"b" - English (4 years)

"c" - Mathematics (3 years)

"d" - Laboratory Science (2 years)

"e" - World Language (2 years of the SAME language)

"f" - Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) (1 year)

"g" - College Prep Elective (1 year)
